Peckish Jr. Cafe

We found this cafe while looking for breakfast locations (that weren't already packed). The staff were very friendly, and the food ended up being very good as well. Happy with our breakfast choice.

Nice fluffy eggs and thick toast, the chili scrambled eggs are perfectly spicy. The iced matcha is pretty good aswell

Amazing experience! This is our third time dining here, and it never disappoints. My favorite dish is the Bulgogi Toast ($9) — it’s absolutely delicious and consistently good every single time, which is something many F&B places struggle to maintain. Today we also tried the Chillies Scramble — it was surprisingly good, even better than we expected. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

It was our first time dining here and wow, what an absolute treat! Our meal at Peckish Jr. Cafe was delicious and the service was amazing. What a hidden gem. It wasn’t overly busy when we were dining (early dinner) but the cafe had a cute and warm atmosphere despite the cold, wet night. We didn’t have to wait long for our meal after placing our order which we very much appreciated. We ordered the Strawberry Matcha to drink, Padthai, Chicken Katsu, Bulgogi Toastie and the Pulled Pork Toastie. Everything we ordered was delectable and we highly recommend. Can’t wait to return and gradually try the rest of their menu! Yum

Peckish Jr cafe (Dukes Arcade, cnr Manners & Willis St) This cafe caught my attention a few months ago, and we finally managed to visit them! It's hidden inside the arcade, which I do not usually walk through, but do not be deceived! They have a very extensive menu and open all 7 days a week starting from 7am breakfast, but it's an all day menu anyway. We got to try a bit of everything, started off with the mini prawn toasts, with a spritz of lemon juice, they were super crunchy and each one had a very solid piece of prawn inside with a nice tartare sauce, posted perfectly with the lemon juice. Then we went on to the labneh eggs, which had some nice yogurt to cut through the flavour with Turkish bread to dip, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and you have to mix in the yolk with the sauce and eat them all together! This was probably my favorite dish, however the crispy pork banh mi was a very close 2nd, I am usually not a banh mi type person, but the pork and the kimchi went very well together, was a bit spicy for us and when I mentioned this to them, they were a bit surprised, haha, call me weak! We also tried the bulgigi beef toasty which was presented beautifully on top of a box, this is more of a one-person dish I think! We tried to share it because we both wanted to try it, and it was slightly difficult to cut it's probably best eaten while you hold the box. The beef was stewed for hours, it was pull apart tender and very juicy. We got some mocktails to go with the meal and they were both very nice, not too sweet and just the perfect amount of refreshing! They also do matcha latte for a very affordable price, but I am personally not matcha person so did not order that, but if you like it, I saw a few other tables ordering that, so I am guessing they serve a good matcha latte! Come give them some love, I think next time I'm coming here for breakfast/brunch!

Came in yesterday and was absolutely wowed! Being vietnamese i’m very picky with my banh mi but i think peckish might just have the best banh mi i have tried in NZ. A lovely date spot and all the drinks and food looked incredible.

What a fantastic little spot! Food is exactly what you need for an energy boost and the atmosphere is calm and pleasant. Amazing value for money in comparison to some other local cafés. Highly recommend breakfast and thier matcha range is packed full of flavor and a subtle but strong caffeine kick. Cannot wait to come back!

We went twice, tried breakfast menu and lunch. So yummy and the best Bahn mi I have ever had! Serving and service both excellent, if you are in Wellington I would highly recommend to come here and you won’t disappoint. Thanks for your friendly service and accomodating our furry friends to be inside and sat next to us
